Hello, my name is Alisha Hart, I am currently studying Accounting, Learning and Online Communication through the CQUniversity’s SUN program. This means I will be studying via distance whilst completing my SACE certificate. Although this is the only university subject I am studying I will still be completing all of my Year 11 lessons whilst working part-time.
I have always had a passion for business, growing up in one myself. Being from a rural town I want to learn how to help business grow not only themselves but the communities around them. I was drawn to accounting because of my love of maths and business. But also because of accounting’s power in being more than just a numbers game. I love how this course sees accounting as related to reality, because to business owners their life savings and financial security is not a game. I want to gain the needed qualifications to help businesses grow and give families that have given up everything that needed assistance.
Having come from a small rural town where everyone knows everyone I am excited by how this course has all the communication mediums incorporated. Which I also believe will give me the needed skills for my future career.
Being new to university I would love any tips or advice from students that have studied previously!

I was studying distantly before I started at the Brisbane Campus this term so I know it can be challenging sometimes and can make you feel a little disconnected but its so good to always see you joining in the Zoom sessions, feels like you’re apart of the class with us! Hi, I do like your blog. Wow, you must be busy working as a chef. I use to work in hospitality and wow can it be stressful. I think you have accidently posted a skeleton blog (I don’t know if that is the word but that is what my media teacher use to say). But I do like your introduction and I too am very passionate about empowering women, you should read Jodi Picoult or Gilligan Flynn they are all about that.
